October 2006 : Julie and Dane's house burnt down

Saturday morning, Oct. 7, Julie's place that she shares with Dane and about 1000 other Echo Parkians caught fire ostensibly due to faulty electric. There's a benefit show at the Echo on Friday the 20th to help out all the affected parties. Lots of good acts are playing. Please come down.

"Opening the show and coming from an entirely different musical place [than Austin's Reckless Kelly, headlining the bill] was the lovably clumsy, proudly eccentric, folk-pop-country-punk outfit Listing Ship, whose members have played with the Eels and Brian Wilson....Los Angeles-based Listing Ship's refreshing deviation from musical normality begins with its instrumentation--including violin, viola and acoustic bass (bowed) and vibraphone. Conventional musical polish isn't the goal here. In general, the admittedly gawky aspects of their musical presentation are in keeping with their persona, as a project far to the left of any mainstream genre. They're prone to adapt various alternative attitudes--from the realms of punk art pop and musical folk art. Listing Ship is onto something new and engagingly offbeat."

August 2005: "Time To Dream" is available now thru Amazon.com. The disc won't be officially available in stores until Jan 10, 2006 -- so pick it up a whole 5 months early on the web!

June 2005: Heather & Julie are on tour playing viola and violin with The Eels until mid-summer but Listing Ship will resume shows in the Fall. The CD release show will be Nov. 6, 2005 @ Spaceland in Silverlake, CA with Carolyn Edwards (a joint record release party!)
